Selah is a group devotional app developed by Zenvix Labs. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it and what your rights are, in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018 — LGPD).
1. Data we collect
Data you give us
- Account: name, email and profile photo (when you sign in with Apple or Google).
- Check-ins: the photo of your devotional moment, the insight text, the date and, if you choose, the Bible passages you read.
- Interactions: likes, comments, prayer requests, testimonies and intercessions.
- Reports: when you report a post, we store the reason you chose and who reported it, to prevent repeated reports. The group admin sees the reason, but not who reported it. The report is deleted once the admin keeps or removes the post.
- Groups: groups you create or join and the days with a check-in in each challenge.
- Notifications: a device identifier for notifications (push token), used only to deliver updates from your group. It is deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
Data collected automatically
- App usage: basic events, such as sign-up, joining a group, check-in, prayer and sharing an invite, to understand how the product is used.
- Diagnostics: error and performance reports, to fix problems.
- Consistency stats: current streak, best streak and total check-ins for the month, calculated from your check-ins.
- Reading history: the Bible chapters you marked and the days you read, calculated from your check-ins. Only you can see this history.
Reminders (verse, streak and prayer) are scheduled locally on your device, and the home screen widget only reads a summary stored on the device itself. The recent books in the reading picker also stay on the device. We do not access your location, your contacts or any photos other than the ones you choose to upload.
2. How we use the data
- Create and maintain your account and your groups.
- Show your check-ins, requests and interactions to the members of your groups.
- Calculate streaks and the group's weekly ranking.
- Build your Bible reading history.
- Notify you about likes, comments, intercessions, testimonies and encouragements.
- Show the group creator how members are participating in the leader dashboard.
- Moderate groups: hide reported posts until the admin reviews them and notify the author when a post is removed.
- Improve the app, fix bugs and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who can see what you post
Selah is organized into closed groups. Your check-ins, photos, comments and prayer requests are only visible to the members of the groups where they were posted. Photos are stored privately and are only delivered to authenticated users who belong to the group. There are no public profiles and no user search.
The Bible passages marked on a check-in appear on the post, for the group. Your reading history (calendar, chapters and books read) is visible only to you.
You can share your own check-ins outside the app. In that case, the card with the photo, the insight and the day's reading is created on your device and sent to the app you choose, such as Instagram or WhatsApp; from then on, that app's privacy policy applies. Other members' posts cannot be shared.
4. Where the data is stored
We use providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database.
- Cloudflare — the app's API and private photo storage.
- Sentry — error reports.
- Expo, Apple and Google — push notification delivery.
- Apple and Google — when you choose to sign in with those accounts.
These services may store data outside Brazil, with contractual safeguards compatible with the LGPD.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you leave a group, you lose access to it. If the creator deletes a group, the check-ins, photos and requests in that group are deleted. When you delete a check-in, or the group admin removes it, it is deleted along with its photo, likes and comments, and it leaves your reading history.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, check-ins, photos, reading history, comments, likes, prayer requests, intercessions, notices, push tokens and usage events.
If the app is not installed, you can also request deletion by email. See the steps and what is kept in Delete your account and data.
7. Your rights
Under the LGPD, you can request confirmation of and access to your data, correction, portability, anonymization or deletion, as well as information about who we share it with. To exercise these rights, write to contato@zenvixlabs.app.
8. Children
Selah is not intended for children under 13. Teenagers should use the app with the consent of their parents or guardians.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When a change is significant, we will let you know in the app. The date at the top of the page shows the version in effect.
